I'se A-Waitin' for Yer,Josie - Partition musicale
'Twas a June afternoon,
And a sentimental coon
Stood alone in de shadow of de tress,
Dere was no one around,
And yer could n't hear a sound,
'Cept de hummin' and de buzzin' of de bees.
You can guess, I suppose,
At de reason why he chose
To be dere if you can't, den I'll explain,

He had come to meet a gal,
But she wasn't punctual,
And de coon began to murmur in a melancholy strain

"I'se a waitin' waitin' for yer, Josie, de ole place, all alone,
And I want yer, want yer, want yer just to tell me dat yer love me you're ma own!
I'se so lonely, lonely, lonely, Josie, dear, waitin' all alone for you.
Drop yer occupation, take a short vacation and bring me consolation, Josie do,
"I'se I do !"."

Now, de gal was aware,
Dat a coon was waitin' dere,
And she peeped through de window with a smile
She was filled and delight
As she thought, "It's only right Just to keep dat nigger waitin' for awhile."
And, besides, she was sure
He would want her all de more
If for him she pretended not care.
So she lingered on and on
Till an hour was nearly gone,
And she listened to his pleading as he marbled over dere

"I'se a waitin' waitin' for yer, Josie, de ole place, all alone,
And I want yer, want yer, want yer just to tell me dat yer love me you're ma own!
I'se so lonely, lonely, lonely, Josie, dear, waitin' all alone for you.
Drop yer occupation, take a short vacation and bring me consolation, Josie do,
"I'se I do !"."

With a heart full of woe
He at last prepared to go,
Ans as soon as de movement she espied,
She exclaimed, "Good ness me!
What a stupid he must be!"
And she darted out and quickly reached his side.
Then she sayd, with a sly
"Did you think I should never come at all?"
What she told him matters not,
That she wouldn't keep him waitin' long next time she heard him call

"I'se a waitin' waitin' for yer, Josie, de ole place, all alone,
And I want yer, want yer, want yer just to tell me dat yer love me you're ma own!
I'se so lonely, lonely, lonely, Josie, dear, waitin' all alone for you.
Drop yer occupation, take a short vacation and bring me consolation, Josie do,
"I'se I do !"."
